So it’s finally ,the end of my freshman year of college. It’s been a fantastic year with minimal downs, and so many ups I can barely count them. I’ve found a new passion in marching band, and have even started devoting my time to learning new instruments and joining Ad Staff. I decided to drastically change my look, and I feel better than ever. I joined an amazing Greek organization something I thought I would never do.
So now, as I help my friends pack and leave school, I can’t help thinking back to summer camp. Those early years when we sat on the porches of our bunks waiting for parents to come as we all left one by one. We were sad, but we always knew that we would see everyone next summer, so there was no reason to really say goodbye. And that’s how I feel now, as I say goodbye to my friends; a little bitter that I’ll be alone and won’t see them everyday, but ever so sweet knowing that in just a few short months we’ll be back for band camp, the start of another spectacular year together.
But still, there is a tiny part of me that remembers, there will be a last summer, and a last goodbye eventually.
